Saturday Art School is a children’s art program designed by VCU’s Art Education faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students.
Children between the ages of 5 and 10 may enroll into one or two four-week sessions, from 10am-noon on specified Saturdays, to explore their creativity and have fun!
Our Philosophical Approach to Art Education
We believe that teaching art to young children goes beyond arts and crafts. The arts are our first language that depicts our culture and our community. Through artistic exploration, we reveal a bit about ourselves, ideas, and our values.
We want your children to explore their creativity, express their understandings, learn about other artists and other cultures, all the while improving their artistic skills.
