Bruce Berryhill's (Video Producer/Director) directing career focuses on creating programs that broaden the television audience's cultural and social awareness. Mr. Berryhill has adapted the art of storytelling to the television and film media through fine arts and performing arts productions, documentaries, corporate advertising, training, video, CD and DVD projects. Mr. Berryhill currently serves as Television Producer/Director for HCTV. Since joining HCTV in January 2004 he has directed successful programs including The USS HENRICO, WorldFest Houston International Film Festival Platinum Medal, and the HR Promotional Video. His many productions such as Assistive Technology, Saving Henrico’s Past, Cochlear Implant and HR Recruitment CD earned awards including the Crystal Communicator Award, Platinum and Gold Medals from the WorldFest Houston International Film Festival and three NACO (National Association of County Organizations) awards. In 1994-1998 Central Virginia's Public TV commissioned him to create the Richmond Memories series. These award winning oral history programs created a renewed interest in community history and received awards including the1996 Virginia Public Relation Awards and the Gold Medallion Award for best in category and best in show. The three one-hour programs featured Richmond, Virginia from the 1920's through the 1960's and have been broadcast annually since their creation.

Mr. Berryhill co-directed Tangible Spirits, a documentary on the work of internationally recognized sculptor Alison Saar, and Women's Work a television documentary featuring the work of the African American Dance Company, Urban Bush Women, both funded by a grant from the Lila Wallace/Readers Digest Foundation and Broadcast by Public TV. As Director of Photography and Graphic Designer, Mr. Berryhill created the visuals for the Virginia Museum of Fine Art's 1996 Communicator and Telly award winning Faberge Video featuring the collection of Lillian Thomas Pratt. Mr. Berryhill received three communicator Awards in 1996, and two communicator awards and four Tellies in 1997, and four Tellies in 1998.

Mr. Berryhill's work is presented worldwide. Since 1987 he and Martha Curtis have been collaborating in the creation of videodance productions. Recent Curtis/Berryhill production Deconstructed Dialogues was selected for national distribution by the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA). Curtis/Berryhill production On the Tracks was distributed in Europe and Canada by the RD Studio Productions of Paris and received a Texas Silver Star from the 2003 WorldFest Houston International Film Festival. The American Program Service of PBS selected the award winning Three Dances by Martha Curtis for their national program schedule. This Curtis/Berryhill production was also selected to represent the United States to emerging third world countries by the Heartland Project of Public TV. Other awards for this program included the National Telly Award and WorldFest Houston International Film Festival Silver Star.

Other credits include producing and directing a one hour PBS broadcast featuring the music of Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington, performed by the Great American Music Ensemble with guest artist jazz superstar Jon Faddis. The audio for this program was recorded digitally by National Public Radio and incorporated into the program. This award-winning program (National Telly Award, Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival, Bronze Medal in the Music Video Category) was distributed to PBS stations across the United States. In addition Berryhill’s Shizumi Dance Theater, produced by Warner Cable Systems, received the 1990 Cable ACE Award.
