Lisa Donegan Shoaf (Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Therapy) PT, PhD, is a physical therapist and assistant professor at Virginia Commonwealth University's Department of Physical Therapy. She is also a part-time faculty in the Department of Dance and Choreography, team teaching the Anatomy for the Dancer and Dance Science courses for the undergraduate BFA. She received her BS in Physical Therapy from VCU, her MS in Health Sciences with a concentration in Dance from James Madison University, and her PhD in Education from VCU. Dr. Shoaf has a background in dance, primarily jazz and modern, with experience in teaching, performance, and choreography. Her clinical practice is orthopedics with a specialty in dance injuries. She currently treats the VCU dancers and the Richmond Ballet. She is also pursuing her Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Certification.
