Grace Street Theater Box Office | Grace Street Theater Rental
Grace Street Theater
The renovation of the Grace Street Theater was completed in 1996, and it now serves as the primary performing venue for the department. The theater is available for community rental for lectures, film screenings and performing arts groups as well.
Renovated from an abandoned movie house, the Grace Street Theater was created specifically for dance. Designed by the architects of the Joyce Theatre in New York City, the Grace Street Theater maintains its original art deco design and seating. Conveniently located on the VCU Campus, the Grace Street Theater is approximately six blocks north of the VCU Dance Center.
The theater contains a house of 225 seats with handicapped accessibility, box office space, versatile repertory light plot, excellent audio and broadcast-quality video equipment, upright piano, adequate storage and two dressing rooms with bathroom, shower, costume supply area and laundry facilities. The stage space is also available upon request to dance majors and faculty for rehearsals, and as a class laboratory for creative work.
