Application Procedures

VCU awards a Master of Music in Music Education (MM) degree. All degree candidates should possess teaching certification.

All prospective students should submit the following:

• VCU Application to Graduate Study
• Original transcripts
• Letters of Reference (3)
• Cover letter and resumé
• Writing Sample – “Personal Philosophy of Music Education”

To obtain an application, transcript request form and letter of reference forms, visit the VCU Graduate Studies website.

After application materials have been received, an on-campus interview with the Director of Music Education will be scheduled.
