"My tapestries are about memories and dreams, they deal with the past and the futureboth real and imagined. The "Horizon" series is specifically about that distant line between land and sky or water and sky. That horizon may never be reached, but it can provoke thoughts of another time or place. My most recent tapestries include the silhouette of an anonymous figure, who is part of the landscape itself. While tapestry is a traditional technique for weaving flat images, I also employ a pulled warp technique to achieve the undulating or folded surfaces. The tapestries are woven primarily with linen and silk. Some of the weft yarns, both silk and linen, are painted with dye in order to get a woven surface that is rich and varied."

Iverson is a full professor, teaching since 1975 in Virginia Commonwealth Universitys School of the Arts, Crafts Department. She is represented in this exhibition by the Horizon series that includes new works created over the past two years.
