MFA Portfolio Requirements

1. Complete a VCU Graduate School Online Application at http://www.vcu.edu/graduate/ps/apply_options.html

Portfolios may be submitted online here or in hard copy to:

Please submit up to 20 images of representative work. You may submit still images (digital or slides), DVDs, VHS tapes or CD-ROM. Mac or PC compatible, Mac preferred.

For Video/Animation work:
Reels should be no more than 10 minutes long. Test all DVD’s to be sure that they play on a standard commercial DVD player. Please note that a moving image piece equals one image of representative work.

Sound work:
Submit a CD-ROM of work that in total is no more 10 minutes long.

Still Images:
Digital images must be JPEGs, at least 150dpi. Compatible on Mac and PC. Print your name directly on slides. Please do not use labels.

Please note that you may send digital images or slides, but do not replicate the same images in both formats.

Send a printout of the Signature Page from the online application procedure (Displayed at the end of the online application process), the Official transcripts x 2 from each institution attended, the VA In-state Tuition Form (Virginia residents only) and the Application fee (check for $50 to Virginia Commonwealth University if not paid online) to:
