Jem Cohen
Jem Cohen is a New York-based filmmaker and media artist. He has made over 35 films from his own ongoing archive of street footage, portraits, and sound. His films and installations often navigate the grey area between genres, mixing documentary, narrative, and experimental approaches.
Cohen has worked extensively with musicians including Patti Smith, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Fugazi, Sparklehorse, R.E.M., Elliott Smith, Vic Chesnutt, Terry Riley, Stephen Vitiello, Jonathan Richman, Blonde Redhead, and the Orpheus Orchestra with Gil Shaham.
Cohen's films are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, The Whitney Museum, and Melbourne's Screen Gallery. He is a Guggenheim, Rockefeller, and Alpert Award Fellow, and has received grants from organizations including the National Endowment for the Arts and Creative Capital Foundation.
Bart Weiss
Bart Weiss, MFA, Columbia University--is an award-winning independent film and video producer, director, editor and educator in Dallas. He has taught film and video at Texas A&M's Visualization Lab, Southern Methodist University, the University of Texas at Austin and Arlington, and West Virginia State College. He was an Apple specialist and is now a trainer on Final Cut Pro. He is a member of the Board of Directors (and president) of the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers (AIVF), founding board member of Dallas Artists Research and Exhibition (DARE) and The University Film and Video Association, past Vice-President of the Texas Association of Film and Tape Professionals (TAFTP), and founder and past president of the West Virginia Filmmakers' Guild.
