Advising
Each student is assigned a faculty advisor upon entrance into the Department of Music, generally based on the studentıs degree track or specialization. Advisor assignments are posted outside of the Music Office (Singleton Center, Rm. 132) at the beginning of the fall semester.
Faculty advisors are available to their students to aid in planning class schedules, to give counsel regarding career issues, academic problems or personal matters and to refer students to appropriate University services that may be of help in handling other concerns. Students should see their advisor to obtain paperwork regarding registration, overloads, petitions to the Academic Status Committee and graduation applications.
Students are required to meet with their advisor before registering
for classes each semester. It is the responsibility of the student
to set up this appointment.
