Directions DIRECTIONS TO MAGGIE L. WALKER GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL 1000 N. Lombardy Street South of Richmond: Take I-95 North to the Chamberlayne Exit Number 76A. Turn left onto Chamberlayne from the exit ramp to West Leigh Street at the Bojangles Statue. Turn right on West Leigh Street. Maggie L. Walker Governor's School will be on your right several blocks down the street. East of Richmond: Take I-64 West to I-95 North. Take the Chamberlayne Exit Number 76A. Turn left onto Chamberlayne from the exit ramp to West Leigh Street at the Bojangles Statue. Turn right on West Leigh Street. Maggie L. Walker Governor's School will be on your right several blocks down the street. North of Richmond: Take I-95 South to the Belvidere Exit Number 76B. Turn right onto West Leigh Street at the top of the ramp and follow Leigh Street to the Maggie L. Walker Governor's School. West of Richmond: Take I-64 East to I-95 South. Take the Boulevard Exit. From Boulevard turn left onto West Leigh Street. Maggie L. Walker Governor's School is on the left (corner of Leigh and Lombardy). Broad Street Directions (from West of Richmond): Go East on Broad Street Broad Street Directions (from East of Richmond): Go West on Broad Street Maggie L. Directions to the W. E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts 922 Park Avenue From the East ( Williamsburg, Va. Beach) on I-64 West: Take Exit #190 5 th St./Downtown/Coliseum). DO NOT GET ONTO I-95. At the 8 th light, turn RIGHT onto Main Street. Go 16 blocks and turn RIGHT onto Harrison Street. At the 3 rd light, turn RIGHT onto Park Avenue. The Singleton Center’s main entrance is directly on your left at the corner of Park Avenue and Harrison Street. From the West ( Charlottesville) on I-64 East: Take Exit #186 (Powhite Parkway/I-195). Take the exit for Hamilton/Broad Streets. Follow Hamilton Street and turn LEFT onto Monument Avenue. Monument Avenue will change to Franklin Street and become a one-way street. At the first traffic light, turn LEFT onto Park Avenue. The Singleton Center’s Main entrance is directly on your left at the corner of Park Avenue and Harrison Street. From the North ( Washington D.C., Maryland) on I-95 South: Take Exit #79 (Powhite Parkway/I-95). Stay towards the left for the ramp onto the Powhite Parkway. Take the exit for Hamilton/Broad Streets. Follow Hamilton Street and turn LEFT onto Monument Avenue. Monument Avenue will change to Franklin Street and become a one-way street. At the first traffic light, turn LEFT onto Park Avenue. The Singleton Center’s Main entrance is directly on your left at the corner of Park Avenue and Harrison Street. From the South ( Petersburg, North Carolina) on I-95 North: Take Exit # 74-A (Downtown Expressway/I-95; portions 25-cent toll). Drive ½ mile and take the exit for Belvidere Street (Routes 1 & 301). Drive two blocks along Canal Street to Belvidere Street. Cross Belvidere Street and continue on Cumberland Street (extension of Canal Street). Turn RIGHT at the next stoplight onto Harrison Street. At the first traffic light, turn LEFT onto Park Avenue. The Singleton Center’s main entrance is directly on your left at the corner of Park and Harrison Streets. From the South on RTE 360 East: Follow 360 towards Richmond. Take Exit # 288 North (Powhite Parkway/I-95; portions toll). Stay in the right lane as you cross the James River on the Powhite Parkway Bridge towards the Downtown Expressway/I-95 East to I-64 East/I-95 South – Petersburg & Norfolk; portions tolls. Take the first exit after the tollbooth for Belvidere Street. Turn LEFT at the first traffic light onto Cherry Street. Take your first LEFT onto Cumberland Street and then at the first traffic light, turn RIGHT onto Harrison Street. At the 5 th traffic light, turn RIGHT onto Park Avenue. The Singleton Center’s main entrance is directly on your left at the corner of Park Avenue and Harrison Streets. Parking Weekdays: On-street parking is available first-come, first-serve on the streets around the Singleton Center. Most spaces are limited to one or two-hour-parking, so be sure to read the signs when parking. There are also two nearby VCU parking decks that provide all-day parking for $5 fir visitors: the West Broad Street Deck at West Broad and Harrison Streets (3 blocks from the Singleton Center) & the West Main Street Deck on Main Street between Cherry Street and Laurel Avenue (4 blocks from the Singleton Center). Weekends (Friday evening – Sunday evening): The weekday options are still available and on-street parking restrictions are lifted during the weekend for MOST parking areas. During these hours, the VCU VV Faculty/Staff Parking lot behind the VCU Music Center ( 1015 Grove Avenue, across the park from the Singleton Center) is also available to the public. The lot can be entered from Harrison Street and Floyd Avenue. |
