VCU Libraries and the College of Humanities and Sciences/ Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies invite you to attend the Unveiling of a Virginia Historic Marker, marking the founding of the Equal Suffrage League (ESL) of Virginia in 1909. The unveiling will take place at 10:30 AM in front of Crenshaw House, 919 W. Franklin Street, followed at 11:00 AM by the Fourth Annual Crenshaw lecture at Scott House, 909 W. Franklin Street, "After the Right to Vote" featuring Lorraine Gates Schuyler, historian and chief of staff, Office of the President, University of Richmond. Her first book, "The Weight of Their Votes: Southern Women and Political Leverage in the 1920's", was recognized as the best book in southern women's history. This is a YEAR OF FREEDOM event.
