Dr. Boaz presents "Medical Anthropology and Medical Geology of Virginia Uranium Mining". Both subjects are germane in this year in which the Virginia General Assembly is debating mining of one of the largest uranium deposits in the world, located in south central Virginia. The presentation examines comparative aspects of the environmental, health-related, sociocultural, economic, and political impacts of uranium mining. Free and open to the public.
