| Description: One full-time tenure track nine-month position of Assistant Professor of Interior Design. •Demonstrate a commitment to teaching both studio and lecture classes at the undergraduate and graduate studio level. • Demonstrate an emphasis in the following areas: AutoCad, computer graphics, and lighting. • Integrate appropriate interior design practice aspects into the classroom. • Integrate technological design approaches in the studio. Preferred candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, Sketchup, InDesign, PhotoShop, Rapidviz and other design related software including Adobe Creative Suite. •Advise undergraduate and graduate students and participate in department, school, and university committees. Candidate will be responsible for overseeing the computer lab and working with technology support . •Produce appropriate scholarly and creative research and/or practice for advancement to tenure. • Take active involvement in professional organizations such as ASID, IIDA, EDRA, ACSA, or IDEC. | |
| Qualifications: Doctorate or terminal degree in Interior Design/Architecture or related field (MA,MS, MFA, M. Arch or equivalent). The preferred candidate will have at least one degree in interior design or architecture; professional and or academic experience required. Successful completion of the NCIDQ Examination and LEED Accreditation are also preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate success in professional practice and university/college teaching and have expertise in two or more of the following areas: Advanced Level Interior Design Studios, Digital Graphic Visualization and Media (including REVIT, Autocad, InDesign, etc.), History of Design. | |
