| Description: Department of Human and Molecular Genetics at VCU is currently seeking applications for the position of Director of Clinical Programs. The position responsibilities include administration and supervision of clinical faculty and genetic counselors to deliver genetics services in the academic medical center and surrounding communities in a primarily consultative practice model. The incumbent will be assisted by the Associate Director of Clinical Service in this role. In addition, the candidate is expected to continue a focused program of scholarship and teach medical and graduate students. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. |
| Qualifications: Successful candidates should demonstrate training and should be board certified/board eligible by the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) and be able to exhibit dynamic leadership in supervision of clinical service, teaching and training of graduate students. Commitment to training students and scientists in new genetic discoveries and their translation into clinical practice is required. In addition, the incumbent is expected to work with the Departmental Director of Graduate Program and School of Medicine to continuously update and upgrade clinical genetics/genetics counseling curricula and integrate that to the departmental and school wide graduate education and training mission. |
