The VCU Program for Osteoporosis
provides comprehensive osteoporosis care including education and prevention,
bone density testing for diagnosis of osteoporosis, advanced management of
patients diagnosed with osteoporosis and clinical research for better treatment
of osteoporosis. Patients are seen at our MCV Hospital and Stony Point
locations.

- A collaborative interdisciplinary program involving
endocrinologists, rheumatologists, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and
registered dieticians who have a special interest in osteoporosis and metabolic
bone disease.
- Bone densitometry for osteoporosis diagnosis, advanced care
of patients with osteoporosis and other metabolic bone disorders, and clinical
research to develop better osteoporosis treatment.
- Outreach and educational activities to increase awareness of
osteoporosis in the community. Affiliated with the Virginia Osteoporosis
Coalition and a Professional Partner of the National Osteoporosis Foundation.
