Description: A Blog is an online journal listed in chronological order and posted on the Web for public viewing. Typically, Blogs are updated daily and provide the author an easy interface to post information. Some Blogs allow readers to add their comments to the posting, only if the feature is enabled. This workshop will show you how to setup and maintain a Blog. Over the summer of 2008, Technology Services upgraded their blog software to Movable Type 4. The interface has been drastically improved, and there are several powerful new features to help you manage your blog more effectively. While we will be covering the basics of blogging and using Movable Type, there will be an emphasis on the new version and what has changed.

Learning Objectives:
  • Create a Blog
  • Add an entry to the Blog
  • Add media(image, video or audio) to the Blog
  • Manage media assets within a Blog
  • Edit Blog entries
  • Enable and control comments from readers
  • Customize your Blog interface
  • Incorporate a Blog into your department or organization homepage
