Prerequisites: Completion of SPSS Level 2 short course or equivalent knowledge (mastery of material in SPSS Statistics 17.0 Brief Guide).

The workbook for this class is SPSS Custom Tables 17.0 (235 pages). It is recommended that your print your own copy of the SPSS Custom Tables 17.0 workbook and bring it with you to class.

If you do not bring a workbook to class, copies will be available for use during class, but these cannot be removed from the classroom.

Description: SPSS Custom Tables is an add-on module to SPSS Statistics Base that simplifies the creation of custom SPSS tables.

Learning Objectives:
  • Use the Table Builder interface
  • Create custom tables
  • Sort and exclude categories
  • Stack, nest and layer categorical variables
  • Customize titles and labels
  • Create subtotals and totals
Note that SPSS Custom Tables is included in the SPSS 17 for Windows installation CD. It is NOT included in VCU`s SPSS Mac license. However, all VCU SPSS users can use SPSS Custom Tables on the App2Go server.
