Description: Higher level computer management skills will be covered in this session. Learn how to adjust the computer to meet your specific needs and avoid problems with preventative maintenance.

  • Zip files: Understanding their purpose
  • Backup and saving files to various storage devices
  • Install and uninstall programs from your computer
  • Customizing short cuts to programs, folder or files
  • Display file extensions and the meaning of file extensions
  • Identify available disk storage space on your computer or another device
  • Defrag your computer’s hard drive
  • Identify network drives on your computer
  • Customize screen resolution and appearance
  • Customize and explore the Start Menu
  • Manage options for Internet Explorer
  • Clean cookies and temporary files from your computer
  • Manage Windows Passwords
  • Burn files to CDs using Windows XP
