| Description: |
Access is a relational database that allows users to create queries, forms, or reports. This class will include enhancing your database designs by using the principles of table relationships, and referential integrity, integrate data with other applications, and modify a table design to control data entry, find data with filters and queries.
Learning Objectives:
- Import Excel data into a new or existing Access table
- Set the rules for how referential integrity is enforced
- Export data from individual database objects to a text file
- Create a report that displays the relationships as they appear in the Relationships window
- Set a default value, require data entry, validate data, and test for data integrity
- Add a pre-defined input mask to a field and create your own input mask, using the Input Mask Wizard to limit the type of information you can enter in a field
- Add a lookup field to a table using the Lookup Wizard and you will modify the properties of a lookup list
- Use filter techniques to view records and match criteria you specify
- Create the default join type and then change the join type to create an outer join
- Create a self-join to relate data in a single table to itself
- Create a select query to show top or bottom values and/or show records that contain unique values in selected fields
- Create a single parameter query and crate a multiple parameter query
- Design action queries that update, add, and delete multiple records in the underlying table
