Prerequisites: Open to Personnel Administrators. This course is Part 1 (basic) for those currently in the PAC program. Part 2 (advanced) will be offered in a future separate course to those who are recertifying for the PAC program.

Description: Ever wonder which Listening Style you tend to lean towards? How do you negotiate between 2 sides when you`re in the middle? Your PA role includes being a consultant between your department and HR. You are the liaison. The key is building a partnership with your manager and with HR that will help create a successful team. This course will help you to improve your active listening skills, negotiation skills, and help you create an action plan for implementimg what you`ve learned. This course is Part 1: Moving from an Operational PA to a Consulting PA. Organizational competencies: Customer service, interpersonal, technical and functional expertise. Hours toward Professional Development Certificate: 3 Counts as (1) elective for the PA Certification Program.
