| Description: | This workshop is designed to help faculty redesign their syllabi from a contract to a road map for students. Emphasis will be devoted to: (1) organizing the syllabus to make it student “friendly” and congruent with teaching philosophies, (2) Inserting a portion of one’s teaching philosophy, (3) Rewriting learning objectives so they link directly with course goals, (4) Linking course activities and assessments to learning objectives, (5) Providing some flexibility and choice to increase student engagement, and (6) Exploring a number of activities that you can have students engage in that will help them understand and use the syllabus as a road map for their learning. |
