Description:

Excel Charts

Excel is a spreadsheet program capable of calculating, analyzing, and displaying data. It is easy to create professional looking charts in Excel by choosing a chart type, layout, and a style.

The session explores multiple charting types, for example:

  • Column charts
  • Line charts
  • Pie charts
  • Bar charts
  • Area charts
  • XY (scatter) charts

Learning Objectives:

The student will

  • Create and modify charts
  • Display charts in multiple environments (both linked and detached from the original spreadsheet)
    • Excel
    • Word
    • PowerPoint
    • Web page
  • Use predefined chart styles and chart layouts for a professional look
  • Add eye-catching formatting to charts
