Q – I lost my certificate. Can you send me another?

A – No. We do not keep track of certificates. Once a certificate is generated it stays on the server for only a few hours. If you need a replacement certificate, return to the course and submit the course evaluation. You will then be forwarded to the certificate creation page. You only need to view the content once to obtain a certificate.

Q – I can't see all or part of the course.

A – Most of our courses are Flash-based and require the Flash Player. Please make sure you have at least Flash Player 8 installed on your computer.

Q – I can't get past a screen in an interactive online course.

A – The screen requires that an activity be completed before you can move on. Please refer to the instructions at the bottom middle of the screen. The instructions will inform you on what to do next. You may also want to take the navigation tutorial presented to you at the beginning of the course. This will guide you through the basics of interactive online VISSTA courses. You can also access the Navigation Tutorial through the link at the bottom of this page.

Q – Where is the training site located?

A – http://www.vcu.edu/vissta/training/va_teachers It may be helpful to remember that there is an underscore between va and teachers "va_teachers".

Q – Can we make copies of the CDs?

A – Yes! You can make as many copies as you need to share with your teachers. But we recommend that you use the web site (above). The web site will be updated. The CDs were produced for those who cannot view the videos due to not having access to a high speed Internet connection.

Q – Can you send me a copy of the CD?

A – No. We do not have any additional copies of the CDs. CDs were mailed to all Virginia Public School System superintendents and principals, to the member schools of the Virginia Council of Private Educators, to state operated programs, to schools in juvenile corrections facilities, to all day schools and all residential schools within Virginia.

Q – I have a question about the content provided in the Child Abuse and Neglect online training.

A – Contact the Child Protective Services unit at your local Department of Social Services. They can provide you with information for an in-service.

Q – How do I get a certificate for this course?

A – To get a certificate, you must complete the "Training Module Evaluation" located under the "Summary" training module within the course. Upon completion you will then be presented with the certificate creation page.
